The Media Law Forum (MLF) announced the official relaunch of its Emergency Legal Hotline dedicated specifically to environmental journalists in Sri Lanka.
“This relaunch underscores the Forum’s commitment to providing rapid, reliable, and accessible legal assistance to journalists covering environmental issues, who often face unique legal challenges and threats while performing their vital role in society,” it said.
The hotline, available 24/7 in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, is a crucial resource for journalists encountering legal intimidation, harassment, or other forms of pressure while reporting on environmental matters. The relaunch aims to raise awareness about the hotline, enhance its visibility among media professionals, and reinforce the Media Law Forum’s broader efforts to protect press freedom.
