Landslide evacuation warning issued to several areas in six districts extended

The ‘Level-3’ (Red) landslide evacuation warning issued to multiple areas in six districts has been extended.

Accordingly, the National Building and Research Organisation (NBRO) landslide warning will be in effect till 04:00 p.m. tomorrow (03).

Districts and Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) that have been issued the Level 3 (Red) landslide warnings, advising people to evacuate, are as follows:

Badulla District: Uva Paranagama, Hali Ela, Meegahakivula, Badulla, Kandaketiya, Bandarawela, Soranathota, Ella, Haputale, Lunugala, Welimada, Haldummulla and Passara Divisional Secretariat Division(s) (DSD) and surrounding areas

Kandy District: Pathahewaheta, Deltota, Hatharaliyadda, Minipe, Medadumbara, Udunuwara, Kundasale, Udapalatha, Udadumbara, Yatinuwara, Panwila, Thumpane, Harispattuwa, Doluwa, Pathadumbara, Poojapitiya, Ganga Ihala Korale, Pasbage Korale, Akurana and Gangawata Korale DSDs and surrounding areas

Kegalle District: Galigamuwa, Bulathkohupitiya, Rambukkana, Yatiyanthota, Mawanella, Warakapola, Kegalle, Aranayaka, Dehiowita, Deraniyagala and Ruwanwella DSDs and surrounding areas

Kurunegala District: Rideegama, Polgahawela, Mawathagama, Alawwa, Mallawapitiya and Narammala DSDs and surrounding areas

Matale District: Laggala-Pallegama, Rattota, Naula, Wilgamuwa, Pallepola, Yatawatta, Ukuwela, Ambanganga Korale and Matale DSDs and surrounding areas

Nuwara Eliya District: Hanguranketha, Mathurata, Nuwara Eliya, Talawakelle, Walapane, Nildandhahinna, Norwood, Ambagamuwa, Kotmale West and Kotmale East DSDs and surrounding areas
