Turkey bound flight preparing for emergency landing at BIA due to technical issue

A passenger aircraft bound for Istanbul, Turkey, from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), is reported to be preparing for an emergency landing.

It is stated that the aircraft is preparing to return and land at the BIA due to a technical issue.

The Turkish Airlines TK733 flight departed the BIA at 10:00 p.m for Istanbul with 202 passengers and 10 crew members on board.

The aircraft, an Airbus A330 operated by Turkish Airlines, is currently circling in the airspace above Chilaw while burning fuel.
