Heavy rainfall experienced in Avissawella this evening (08) has resulted in flooding at the Avissawella Private Bus Stand, while a fallen tree has disrupted traffic along the Colombo–Ratnapura main road.
The bus stand has reportedly been inundated following torrential rainfall, with floodwaters covering parts of the premises.
Meanwhile, traffic movement along the Colombo–Ratnapura main road has been severely disrupted after a large tree fell across the roadway in the Madola area of Avissawella.
The incident temporarily brought traffic travelling in one direction to a standstill, causing considerable inconvenience to motorists and commuters.
Area residents have joined efforts to remove the fallen tree, while measures are underway to restore normal traffic movement as soon as possible.
