Nepal earthquake: cabinet approves renovation of religious places

The Cabinet approval has been granted to reconstruct a Buddhist temple and a Hindu temple which were damaged by the recent disaster in Nepal, the Government Information Department said today (14).


Earlier, following initiatives of President Maithripala Sirisena, dispatch of tri-service relief contingents, was also organized in close coordination with the Disaster Management Centre.


The relief and rescue contingent, comprised of Sri Lanka’s Army, Navy, Air Force and Civil sector consultants, are now engaging in post-earthquake humanitarian services as well.
