Attack on driver sparks bus strike in Aluthgama

Private bus drivers operating at the Aluthgama depot have resorted to a strike action since this morning (05), President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijerathne says.
The bus drivers have decided to resort to trade union action due to the inaction of the police to apprehend several individuals who had allegedly assaulted a bus driver, it was reported.
The assaulted driver has been admitted to the Colombo South Hospital for treatments.
