Malindo Air launches direct flights to Colombo

Malindo Air has opened bookings for its first ever routes to Sri Lanka.


The Kuala Lumpur-based carrier has confirmed that services to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo will get underway on 18 December 2015, while the new flights to Ho Chi Minh City will launch on 29 January 2016.


Both routes will be operated daily using Malindo’s 162-seat, two-class Boeing 737 aircraft.


The Colombo flights will depart KLIA 2 airport each day at 2200 and arrive in the Sri Lankan capital at 2255. The return service will then leave at 2355 and arrive back in KL at 0615.


Malindo, which is part-owned by Indonesia’s Lion Air, currently operates flights to destinations in Malaysia, Australia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand and Singapore, and will commence its first services to Hong Kong on 10 December. (Travel Daily Media)
