Paranavithana to get additional portfolio - sources

Karunarathna Paranavithana is tipped to be appointed as the Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media from tomorrow (4), sources told Ada Derana. 

Paranavithana, a former diplomat and journalist, currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils.

He is expected to be sworn in tomorrow while another MP is expected to be sworn in to his current portfolio.

He was the former Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information under Gayantha Karunathilake, who is now the Minister of Parliament Reforms and Mass Media.

Paranavithana has also served as the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Toronto, Canada and the Director General of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation .
