M.H. Mohamed passes away

A former Speaker, Minister and MP M.H. Mohomad has passed away at the age of 95, family members told Ada Derana.

 

M.H. Mohamed served as the 14th Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament from March 9, 1989 to June 24, 1994.He was also elected as the first ever Muslim Mayor of Colombo and served from  1960-62.

 

His remains lie at No. 513, Bauddaloka Mawatha, Colombo.
