Sri Lankan mission in Qatar names council to coordinate social services

The Sri Lankan embassy in Doha has appointed a ten member ‘Supreme Council’ to coordinate and conducted community oriented social activities, the mission said in a statement.  

Ambassador Prof (Dr) W M Karunadasa, has appointed a ten member ‘Supreme Council’ for community/embassy oriented social activities, for a period of one year commencing with effect from June 20. 

The letter of credence had been handed over to the members of the ‘Supreme Council’ at a ceremony held at the embassy premises recently.

Tennison De Silva, while concurrently holding his incumbent Presidency of the Sri Lankan Coordinating Committee (SLCC) has been appointed as the first President of this newly established ‘Supreme Council’.  

Members include Nimal Thudewatta, Ameerudeen Moulana, Mahesh Abhayapala, Lakmal Ehelamalpe, Roshan Balasuriya, Lenny Cramer, Dhammika Jayasena, A R M Musthak and Pantalion Perera.
