Thajudeen case: AG to file case against former JMO

A case will be filed against former Colombo Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) Dr. Ananda Samarasekera under the terms of the Public Property Act in connection with the murder of national rugby player Wasim Thajudeen, the Attorney General’s Department informed the court today.
The observation made when the case was taken up for hearing at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.
Charges will be filled against the former JMO as several bones and other parts of former Rugby player Wasim Thajudeen’s body had gone missing, the Court was apprised.
The mysterious death of Wasim Thajudeen was not an accidental one, the CID informed the Magistrate earlier. An inquest into his death was launched following the emergence of new information in connection with the case recently.
