Train derails near China Harbour in Trincomalee

A train transporting coal has derailed near the China Harbour area in Trincomalee, Ada Derana reporter said.


Due to the derailment, a train which was scheduled to depart at 11.20 a.m. from Trincomalee to Galoya has been delayed until 3.00 p.m.


The railway control room said that steps are currently being taken to restore train services along the line at the earliest.
