Minister Harin Fernando says that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is the leader in destroying political parties who attempted to the split both the JVP and UNP and that it is “karma” that in the end he is now part of an attempt to destroy his own party.

“He tried to split the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). He tried to split the United National Party (UNP). In the end look what Mahinda Rajapaksa is trying to do today.”

“He is trying to destroy the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) by forming a new party,” he told reporters in Colombo.

He said that Mahinda Rajapaksa is called the leader in destroying parties and in the end that leader has had to have a hand in “the sin” of destroying his own party by sticking with individuals such as Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila.

The Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure said that this is karma for attempting to destroy other parties.
