The bodies of two individuals including a child, who are believed to be victims of the recent boat disaster in Katukurunda, have been discovered after they washed ashore at two separate locations.

One of the bodies, a 25-year-old from Galpotta, had washed ashore at the Beruwala beach this morning while the other, a 7-year-old boy from Payagala, was discovered by fishermen in Balapitiya.

Four passengers of the capsized boat, including two children, a woman and a man, were reportedly still missing following the incident on Sunday (22).

The discovery of two more bodies today brings the confirmed death toll from the incident to 14 while two more are still missing.
