Man shot dead in Mawathagama

A man has been killed after an unidentified gunman had opened fire at him in Mawathagama on Monday morning, police said.


The gunman who was on a motorbike had fled the scene soon after the shooting, it was reported.


The police said that an investigation is underway to locate the suspect. The remains of the deceased will be taken to the Mawathagama hospital for a post-mortem.
