22 H1N1 cases reported in Vavuniya district

At least 22 persons infected with H1N1 virus (swine flu) have been identified in Vavuniya district within last 30 days.


According to hospital sources, one death was also reported due to H1N1 virus so far.


The patients are undergoing treatment at the Vavuniya hospital. All the patients tested positive for H1N1 virus and have been kept in a special ward, it was reported.


Reports suggested that at least 37 persons infected with H1N1 virus were also identified in Kilinochchi district last week.
