Child protection authority reports alarming fake call stats

April 12, 2017   12:42 pm

The National Child Protection Authority has decided to pay special attention to the fake complain they receive via their hot line, 1929.

They stated that the hotline receives many false child abuse complaints due to other personal conflicts that may exist between the parties involved.

They further added that false complaints of this nature, wastes valuable time and money of the officials, and the government, respectively, as the authority acts on each and every call made, individually.

The hotline, is a 24 hour service provided by the government.

Out of the 9361 complaints the authority received last year, only 2180 included an actual child abuse case, according to the authority.
