President pays unexpected visit to Negombo District Hospital

President Maithripala Sirisena embarked on an unplanned inspection tour of the Negombo District Hospital today (28).

The President’s Media Division stated that President Sirisena had arrived at the hospital premises in the morning today (28) and inspected the general functions of the hospital, after which he proceeded to meet with the doctor in-charge of the special Dengue Treatment Unit.

The President had instructed officials to take immediate measures to provide necessary facilities for the expansion of the dengue patients’ wards, owing to the rise in number of Dengue patients in and around Negombo.

The President’s Media Division stated that the President had instructed Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to provide other necessary facilities to the hospital as well.
