Accidents claim two lives in Punarin, Yakkala

Two road accidents occurred in Punarin and Yakkala have claimed two lives, police said on Sunday. In one accident, a cyclist was killed following an accident involving a van along the Paranthan - Punarin road.


The driver of the vehicle has fled the area and an investigation is underway to locate him, police added.


Meanwhile, a 70-year-old person was killed after he was knocked down by a van in Imbulgoda area in Yakkala. The driver of the vehicle will be produced before the Gampaha Magistrate today.
