Beachside restaurant gutted by fire in Mt. Lavinia

A fire which broke out at around 2.15am this morning (8) had destroyed a large section of a prominent beachside restaurant located on College Avenue in Mount Lavinia.   

The fire was doused with the assistance of the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia fire brigade and police personnel, however it had already caused significant damage to the establishment. 

Police said that there were no casualties as a result of the fire and that no occupants had sustained any injuries. 

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained while Mount Laivnia Police is conducting an investigation. 

The damages caused by the fire has not been estimated as of yet.
