Moragahakanda development project to be completed in December

The Public Relations Officer of the Moragahakanda Development Project P.G.Dayananda reported that the Moragahkanda project which was deemed to be the biggest hybrid-project of the Yahapalana government will be completed by December 2017. 

P.G.Dayananda stated that the construction team is now in the final phase of the project and that it will be completed within the course of the year. 

The Moragahakanda – Kalu ganga project which is the final segment of the Mahaweli development plan utilized USD 1205.5 in funding. 

It was also mentioned that a large portion of funding has been allocated for several supplementary projects that will follow. The Public Relations Officer also stated that provisions will be made for a public viewing of the Moragahakanda dam once the project is completed.
