September 30, 2017   10:13 am

The Centre for Environmental Justice (CEJ) stated that immeasurable damage has been done to the environment through several development projects that have been illegally constructed without the approval of necessary environmental conservation groups.

Executive Director of the CEJ Hemantha Withanage stated that an Environmental Analysis law needs to be implemented to prevent such occurrences.

He further stated that this is the only way that legal action may be sought against unlawful development projects that hinder the environment of Sri Lanka.
