SPC to issue drugs free until the strike is called off

November 1, 2017   02:57 pm

The Health Ministry has decided to issue drugs free of charge from all pharmacies of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation due to the strike launched by the State Pharmaceuticals Association.

The State Pharmaceuticals Association launched an island-wide strike today (1).

These steps have been taken on the directions of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, in order to minimize the inconvenience faced by patients due to the ongoing strike.

Accordingly, the internal and OPD patients treated from government hospitals can purchase drugs free of charge by presenting their medical prescription to Osuasala island-wide.
