Residents of Mullaitivu informed the Navy of extreme changes observed off the coastline of Mullaitivu within the past few days.

Reports confirm that increasingly rough waves were recorded off the coast of Mullaitivu last night (28) that are yet to decrease in intensity.

Upon investigation Navy personnel observed that extreme darkness was present from the coast to the horizon off the Mullaitivu beach.

The fishing community of the area has been advised to refrain from going out to sea till the hazardous situation subsides. Residents of the area claim that the sea level has risen by five feet as a result of the incessant rains that were documented in the area.
