Female magistrate, doctor husband and daughter injured in car crash

Three persons including a female magistrate have been injured and hospitalised after the car they were traveling in veered off the road and crashed into a tree at Pambala, Madampe on the Chilaw-Colombo main road. 

Madampe Police said that the accident had occurred in the wee hours of today (19) while it is believed to have been caused due to the driver falling asleep on the wheel. 

The magistrate, her husband who is a doctor at the Chilaw General Hospital and their daughter were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. They have been admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital for treatment. 

The accident had occurred while they were returning to their home in Singhapura, Chilaw after participating in a programme in Colombo. 

The vehicle had sustained severe damages in the crash.
