LG polls: acceptance of deposits under the second stage ends

The time period for making deposits for 248 Local Government (LG) institutions under the second stage, for the upcoming LG polls will terminate at noon today (20), the Election Commission announced. 

The acceptance of nominations will terminate at noon tomorrow (21).

A time period of one and half hours will be given to stage oppositions, The Election Commission said. 

Chairman of the Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya announced that the Local Government election will be held on February 10, 2018.

Applications for postal votes will be called until December 22,election Commissioner said.
