Collision on Batticaloa-Badulla main road: Air Force officer and family hospitalized

An Air Force Officer travelling with his family met with an accident on the Badulla-Batticaloa main road earlier today (22), causing severe injuries to all the passengers of the vehicle.

Police sources stated that the vehicle that was being driven by the Air Force officer collided with a telephone pole on the side of the road near the Kathankudi police station. It was later revealed that the officer was on a telephone call at the time of the accident. 

The Air Force officer, his wife and their two daughters aged six and five months were rushed to the Batticaloa teaching hospital where they are currently being treated.
