Western Province Councilor Amal Silva injured in shooting

Western Provincial Council member Amal Silva has been injured and hospitalised after being shot at by a gang of individuals in a car at Ratmalana, the Police Spokesman confirmed.

The councilor has been admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital for treatment. 

He had been traveling in a jeep from Kaldemulla in the Mount Lavinia police division towards Golumadama junction when several individuals in a car had opened fire at him and fled. 

The incident had reportedly taken place at around 8.50pm today.
