September 15, 2018   09:55 am

Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) Gemunu Wijeratne says that a certain system should be formed to revise bus fares parallel to the fuel price system.

He says that they are expecting a solution from the government within two weeks regarding the anticipated bus fare increase.

Meanwhile, the Inter-Provincial Private Bus Association (IPPBA) Chairman Sarath Vijitha Kumara said that the price of fuel should not be changed monthly according to the pricing formula.

Also, Deputy Minister of transport Ashok Abeysinghe states should bus fares be raised, it should be done so only by 4%.
