Train-car collision kills 2 months old baby

A train had met with an accident in Habaraduwa at around 3.15 pm this afternoon (23) when a car collided with it.

A car had hit a train en route from Matara to Colombo near the signal operated railway crossing near the fertilizer storage.

The driver of the car, two women, a child and an infant had been admitted to the Karapitiya hospital following the accident.

However, the 2 month old infant named Sahasya Amandi from Kalahe had late succumbed to the injuries.

Habaraduwa Police is conducting further investigations.
