23,000 loans granted under ‘Enterprise Sri Lanka’

Under the Enterprise Sri Lanka State Concessionary Credit Scheme, 23,000 individuals and institutions have been granted loans, stated the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media.

According to the Ministry a total of loans worth Rs 49,000 million have been granted under this scheme.

Loans are granted for entrepreneurs through state and private banks and 16 interest loan plans are introduced in this program.

Government pays off part or the total of the interest under the scheme.

Through this project, government’s aim is to create 100,000 entrepreneurs within this year.
