Junior staff at Marawila hospital on strike

Junior employees of Marawila Base Hospital have commenced a strike action this morning (04) at around 06.30 a.m. based on several demands, said Ada Derana reporter.

Reportedly, a large number of patients have been inconvenienced due to the strike action.

The daily functions of the Outpatient Department (OPD) of the hospital have come to a complete halt owing to the strike action.

According to the striking junior employees, the strike is based on several demands including improper implementation of annual transfers and deploying the junior employees for dissecting dead bodies.
