October 25, 2018   01:29 pm

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to present the extraordinary gazette notification, containing the list of substances and methods that are prohibited in sports, to the parliament.

The World anti-Doping Agency (WADA) annually releases the list of substances and methods prohibited in sports.

Concurrent to this, Sri Lanka also bans the substances mentioned in the list issued by the WADA, under Article 34 of the Convention against Doping in Sports Act No. 33 of 2013.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Sports Faiszer Musthapha to present the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2083/32 to the parliament.
