CPC trade unions on indefinite strike over shooting incident

Several Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) trade unions have launched an indefinite strike following yesterday’s (28) events in Dematagoda.

Three persons were shot at in a tense situation occurred within the CPC premises when the former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga arrived at the premises last evening.

One of the shooting victims succumbed to their injuries following admission to the National hospital.

Police Media Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara stated that a guard of the former Minster Ranatunga had fired the gunshots and the relevant guard has been arrested over the incident.
