Police Clearance Certificates issued only via online service due to virus risks

Sri Lanka Police has decided issue Police Clearance Certificates only via online service as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

Issuing a media statement, police media division also stated that the office set up to accept the applications for Police Clearance Certificates will be closed for two weeks.

As the number of coronavirus patients in Sri Lanka has risen to 10, the possibility of infected people who have not been identified are among the general public cannot be ruled out, the release says further.

Accordingly, Police Clearance Certificates will be issued via online service, the Police said.
