Two COVID-19 infected patients in ICU at IDH

Two patients infected with COVID-19 is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), stated the Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe.
Joining ‘Derana Aruna’ program on TV Derana, Jasinghe said that 77 patients who are confirmed to have contracted the virus are receiving treatment at hospitals.
He pointed out that a decline in the number of infected persons was observed since the curfew has been imposed.
Meanwhile, the Colombo North Base hospital is being utilized for the treatment of COVID-19 patients since yesterday (21).
Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital in Malabe will be used to treat suspected COVID-19 patients while the medical staff of De Soysa and Castle Street Women’s Hospitals will serve at the Neville Fernando Hospital on a shift basis.
The ICU of the Teaching Hospital at Kotelawala Defense University will also be used for the process of treating coronavirus infections.
Further, the Sri Lanka Army is taking steps to renovate the buildings formerly belonging to the Voice of America in order to facilitate coronavirus treatment.
