Prison inmate dies of accident during escape attempt

An inmate of the Mahara Prison has died in an attempt to escape from the prison, stated the Police Media Spokesman.

Reportedly, 7 inmates had made an escape attempt at the Mahara Prison at around 3 am this morning (03). They had attempted to escape using rope and bedsheets.

However, one inmate had met with an accident which resulted in his death.

The remaining 6 inmates have been recaptured, said the Police.

Two prison guards, too, have sustained injuries in the course of events.
