Eight more COVID-19 patients recover, total reaches 240

Eight more persons who had tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered completely and been discharged from hospital today (08), says the Ministry of Health.

On that account, the total count of coronavirus recoveries in the country has reached 240 now.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry stated that 575 active cases are currently under medical care at selected hospitals across the island.

Sri Lanka has confirmed a total of 824 positive cases of COVID-19 to date.

Nine coronavirus fatalities have been confirmed in Sri Lanka to date.
