Mahela chairs 14-member National Sports Council

New members have been appointed to the National Sports Council to boost the field of sports in Sri Lanka.

Upon invitation from Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa, the freshly-appointed members of the council held its inaugural meeting today (20).

The 14-member council is chaired by former Sri Lankan cricket captain Mahela Jayawardene.

It consists of 13 other professionals in multiple fields who had contributed to revamp and revive sports culture locally and internationally.

The other members of the National Spots Council are as follows:

04. Dilantha Malagamuwa
05. Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson
06. Supun Weerasinghe
07. Rohan Fernando
08. Ruwan Keragala
09. Sanjeewa Wickramanayake
10. Major General Rajitha Ampemohotti
11. Rowena Samarasinghe
12. Yaswanth Muttetuwegama
13. Amal Edirisooriya
