102 COVID-19 patients in Katunayake-Seeduwa zone

A total of 102 cases of COVID-19 infections have been reported in the Katunayake-Seeduwa Public Health Medical Division so far, according to the Administrative Public Health Inspector (PHI) of the division, Suresh Kumara.

Most of them are first associates and employees of the Katunayake Free Trade Zone, he said.

Another 42 employees in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone have been infected with the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases reported in the zone to 67.

Reportedly, the majority of them are residing in hostels in the Seeduwa area.

Out of 220 PCR tests conducted at the Seeduwa Medical Officer of Health Division yesterday (12), 34 were confirmed to be infected with the virus.
