Tear gas fired at IUSF protesters in Colombo

Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesting university students near the University of Colombo, a short while ago.  

The protest march has been organized by the Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF) based on several demands including the holding of local government elections and the repealing of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
