Five individuals have been arrested for attempting to sell three elephant tusk pearls (‘Gaja Muthu’) to a Chinese national for Rs. 12 million.

Two of the arrestees were identified as employees of the Matale District Court.

According to reports, the suspects had made an attempt to sell three elephant tusk pearls that were among the court productions.
