Advisory issued for heavy rain in six provinces

The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ level advisory, valid for the next 24 hours, for heavy rain in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Northern and North-western provinces.

Accordingly, the prevailing showery condition over the South-western parts of the island is likely to continue further due to the indirect effect of the cyclone ‘MICHAUNG’, the Met. Department. said.

Meanwhile, heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern Northern and North-western provinces, it added.
