Colombo-Batticaloa train services to resume as normal

The Railway Department says that train services between Colombo and Batticaloa including the ‘Meenagaya’ intercity express train, which were cancelled yesterday due to floods, will resume normal services from today (12). 

The ‘Meenagaya’ intercity express train had been cancelled since Wednesday evening due to flood water along the railway track in Valaichchenai, Punai.

Meanwhile, the ‘Pulasthi’ express train had been restricted to Polonnaruwa.
