Acting Defence Secretary appointed

The Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Saman Dissanayake, has been appointed as the Acting Defence Secretary with effect from today until Defence Secretary (Rtd) General Kamal Gunaratne returns to the island.

The Presidential Secretariat states that the acting appointment is in addition to the duties of his substantive post as Additional Secretary (Civil Security and Development).
