Navy to probe conduct of personnel during abduction of couple in Jaffna

The Sri Lanka Navy is set to launch a comprehensive investigation into the conduct of several naval personnel during a recent incident involving the abduction of a couple near the Ponnalai Naval Post in Vaddukoddai, Jaffna.

During an inquiry made by Ada Derana, Media Spokesman for the Navy Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya asserted that strict measures will be taken in the event any navy personnel are found guilty of any wrongdoing.

On 11 March, a couple was violently assaulted and abducted by a group of individuals near the Ponnalai Naval Post in Vaddukoddai, Jaffna, following which the husband was found hacked to death.
