Two boys drown in Polwatta River

Two boys have reportedly drowned while bathing in the Polwatta River at Yakkalamulla, Galle.

The deceased boys are aged 11 and 14 years while they are said to be related. 

Police said that they had drowned while bathing in the river along with their parents and other family members.

The boys were rushed to the Imaduwa Hospital following the incident, however they were pronounced dead on admission to the hospital. 

Yakkalamulla Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
