A 17-year-old boy who was bathing in the Castlereagh Reservoir is reported missing after being swept away by strong water currents.

The teenage boy, who is a resident of Castlereagh Estate in Dick Oya, had visited the reservoir with his family members at around 03.30 p.m. this evening (18).

The security personnel in charge of the Castlereagh Reservoir along with local fishermen and residents have launched an operation in search of the body of the student.

Eyewitnesses claim that the incident had occurred while the student was swimming back and forth across the reservoir, ignoring the warnings of the security officers.
