Foreign-made revolver, 12 live rounds of ammunition seized in Mattakkuliya

A foreign-manufactured revolver and 12 live rounds of ammunition have been seized from a house in Mattakkuliya based on information uncovered during an ongoing investigation, police stated.

 

The weapons were recovered yesterday (19) following information obtained from a suspect currently being held at the Colombo Crime Division under a detention order.

 

Police said the suspect had been brought into the country from overseas and is being detained while investigations continue.

 

Based on information revealed during the investigation, officers searched the suspect’s residence in Mattakkuliya and recovered the foreign-made revolver and 12 live rounds.

 

The Colombo Crime Division is conducting further investigations into the incident.
