Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is reportedly writing a book examining the management of Sri Lanka’s economy during his tenure as President.

Former President Wickremesinghe made this revelation today (16) during a meeting with Sri Lanka’s newly appointed Chinese Ambassador, Wei Huaxiang, at his office on Flower Road.

During the meeting, former President Wickremesinghe welcomed the new ambassador to Sri Lanka and to his office. He also said that he had recently travelled to Singapore for a further medical examination and was in good health.

“I am not engaged in as many activities as I was previously. I am also writing a book on how Sri Lanka’s economy was managed during the period when I served as President,” former President Wickremesinghe said.

He further stated that he had entrusted the party’s activities to others and that the same arrangement applied to matters concerning the united opposition.

Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe added that he continues to maintain an interest in Sri Lanka’s position and role within the Indian Ocean region.
